MOUNT VERNON — Jauan M. Goeppinger, 38, of Harrison Avenue, Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

She was born Sept. 19, 1973, in Los Angeles, Calif. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Hill Church in Mount Vernon.

She is survived by her husband, Karl Mike Goeppinger; a daughter, Kayla Alcott of Mount Vernon; two sons, Austin Smith of Mount Vernon and Tyler Smith of Butler; her adoptive mother, Doreen Vaughn; and three brothers, Charles Alcott, Benjamin Lonewolf and Richard Alcott Jr.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Petit; her mother, Violet Lonewolf; and a brother, Darrell Alcott.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Hill Church, 535 Wooster Road, Mount Vernon. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Jauan M. Goeppinger.
