HOWARD — Yauncey M. Newman, 76, of Howard, passed away Sept. 26, 2011, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 26, 1935, in Mount Vernon to the late Myron T. and Nevada M. (Willison) Newman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1954-1958. He was a member of the Millwood Church of Christ and the NRA. He was employed by Kenyon College in the Maintenance Department, where he retired in 1997.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita (Hite) Newman, whom he married Sept. 28, 1958; and many close friends and Kenyon College students.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Yauncey will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, at noon at Millwood Church of Christ, with Evangelist Dave Jones officiating. A reception with the family will follow the services at the church. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Homes are handling the funeral services for the Newman family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Knox County, 17700 Coshocton Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050
