MARION — Flaudean Schlairet, 92, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at Marion General Hospital.
Flaudean was born Nov. 22, 1918, to Squire and May Fishburn in Mount Vernon. On Nov. 27, 1936, she was united in marriage to James Bernard Schlairet. Her beloved husband preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1960. Flaudean was affectionately known as “Flo.”
She sadly leaves behind her six children, Mrs. Judy (James) Gmeiner, Port Charlotte, Fla., James Michael (Sandy) Schlairet, Columbus, Stephen Joseph Schlairet (Ozzie Russ, partner), Chipley, Fla., Mrs. Jane (Tom) Manley, Marion, Mrs. Mary Jo (Bill) Haberman, Columbus, Drs. Timothy John (Maura) Schlairet, Valdosta, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister Mary Mintier, Novi, Mich.
Her sister, Matilda Snively, of Mansfield, preceded her in death in 1984.
Flaudean retired from GTE. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a booster of St. Mary’s Grade School and Marion Catholic High School. She enjoyed playing bridge, quilting, gardening, shopping and bowling. She was an avid sports fan and loved her Buckeyes, Bengals and Reds. Loving thanks for her many friends who have loved her and helped her during her long life’s journey.
Family will greet friends Friday, Sept. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
