GAMBIER — Mary “Elsie” Cline, 91, of Gambier, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 17, 1920, in Pike County to the late Anthony Wilburn and Isabelle (Shank) Lauderback.

Mary is survived by her children, Mary Carroll of Crestline, Betti Salmons of Peterstown, W.Va., Fred (Vonnie) Cline of Mount Gilead, Debbie (Doug) Nofzinger of Mount Vernon, and Tony (Tammy) Cline and Carolyn Pruitt, both of Gambier; she has 26 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great-grandchildren and a son-in-law, Woody Carroll.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Cline; daughters, Margaret Cline and Anna Hall; three sisters, Margaret Clifford, Marie DeFranze and Florence Irwin; two brothers, Carey Wilburn and William Lauderback; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Church of Christ with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery.
