MOUNT VERNON — Misty D. Howard, 39, of Plaza Drive, Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at Akron Children’s Hospital.
She was born Sept. 20, 1972, in Marion and was a 1991 graduate of Marion Harding High School. Misty was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at her birth and has been an avid supporter of research since.
She is survived by her husband, Tom McCament of Mount Vernon; a son, Anthony McCament of Mount Vernon; her father and mother, John L. and Barbara “Lu” (Martin) Stricklin of Marion; a brother, John M. Stricklin of Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri; two sisters, Barbara Michelle (James) Lumberson of Marion and Erin Umbehr of Carriere, Miss.; brothers-in-law, Larry Laughrey and Ty Harris; sisters-in-law, Susan Good and Michelle (Steve) Garrad; mother-in-law, Kathy Harris; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara L. Laughrey, who also passed away from Cystic Fibrosis.
Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
