MOUNT VERNON — Paul L. Lepley, 78, of Mount Vernon, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at the Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon.

Paul was born Feb. 15, 1933, in Mount Vernon to Paul M. and Marjorie M. (White) Lepley. He served with the United States Navy in Korea. Paul had been employed at Pittsburg Plate Glass Industries in Mount Vernon, as a courier for Signal Bank and FirstMerit Bank in Mount Vernon and for the State of Ohio Liquor Store in Mount Vernon. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns and he enjoyed Westerns.

He was a member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon; Mount Zion Lodge 9, Free and Accepted Masons, in Mount Vernon; and the Mount Vernon Elks Lodge.

Surviving are his daughter, Amy (Tom) Auker of Mount Vernon; his son, Paul W. Lepley of Chillicothe; and granddaughter, Adrienne (Jeff) Harris of Columbus.

Besides his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Jo Lepley; and a brother, Jaan Lepley.

Friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Warren Outhwaite officiating. Burial with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
