MOUNT VERNON — Virginia A. Porter, 85, of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.

Virginia was born July 15, 1926, in Narka, Kan., to Frank R. and Alice Gertrude (Arnett) Salisbury.

Surviving are her daughter, Luan (Bernard) Peters of Bellville; sons, F. Kelley (Becky) Porter of Chandler, Ariz., and Timothy (Penny) Porter of Chesterville; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

There will be no calling hours. Private graveside funeral services will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.
