CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Martha “Marty” Branstool, 57, of Charlotte, N.C., passed away Thursday evening, Oct. 13, 2011, at the Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Marty was born May 27, 1954, in Meadville, Pa., a daughter of late R. Bruce and Helen (Clancy) Jannot. Marty graduated in 1972 from Meadville Area High School and was a 1976 Penn State graduate, earning a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She worked for the Presbyterian Orthopedic Hospital in Charlotte for 25 years as a case manager. Marty was Penn State proud and a life member of the Penn State Alumni Association. Marty is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Branstool; a sister, Maryanne (Larry) Kee of Sunter, S.C.; stepchildren, Aaron and Regan Branstool of Charlotte; godson, Tad Piecka of Studio City, Calif.; and a dear friend, Sue Werle of Erie, Pa. The family will have a private service for Marty. Burial will be in the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
