MOUNT VERNON — Dorothy L. Miller, 96, of Mount Vernon, formerly of Brookside, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, in The Laurels of Mount Vernon.

She was born Nov. 11, 1914, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of the late Thomas W. Sr. and Mary Louise Williamson Lewis. She was a retired secretary of the Bridgeport School District, and a member of the Thompson Methodist Church, Wheeling Island.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Clair Miller; two brothers, Thomas W. Lewis Jr. and George Edward Lewis; and a sister, Mildred Lewis.

Dorothy is survived by a son, Richard “Dick” (Peggy) Miller of Howard; two grandsons, Mike (Nancy) Miller of Columbus and Tim Miller of Colorado; and a great-grandson, Aiden R. Miller.

Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jack Yeager officiating. Interment will be in Belmont Memorial Cemetery St. Clairsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
