LEXINGTON — Betty Allard, 68, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.
Born Elizabeth Mary Allard on March 28, 1943, in Syracuse, N.Y., to Charles and Winifred (Wait) Allard, she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. Since 2005, she and her dear friends, Sharon Schultz and Joan Dedden, shared a home outside Lexington, where they affectionately modeled “The Golden Girls.”
Survived by her sister, Sister Annette Allard, CSJ; brother, Michael Charles Allard; aunts, Sister Elizabeth Jean Allard, CSJ, and Elizabeth Allard Young; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her brothers, the Rev. Richard Joseph Allard, CSB, and Hugh John Allard.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Resurrection Parish, 2600 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, celebrated by the Very Rev. Father Nelson Beaver. Friends may call on the family during the hour prior to the Mass at the church.
