CLEVELAND — Roger L. Metz, 70, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, in the Cleveland Veterans Administration Hospital.

Born in Mansfield on July 5, 1941, the son of Kenneth L. Metz Sr. and Sophie Hornung Metz, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.

Survived by wife, Shirley (Mabry) Metz; daughters, Deniece (Art) Todd, Rhonda (Alan) Bisel and Mindy (Samuel) Craig; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert A. Metz Sr., Donald Metz, Larry Metz, Glenn Metz; sisters, Geraldine “Gerry” Hunter and Loretta Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth L. Metz Jr.; and sisters, Jeannie Smith Dent Fredericks and Charlotte Rachel.

Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, 350 Marion Ave., where funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Dave Davenport will officiate. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Visit http://www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.
