KILLBUCK — Martha Chanay, 72, of Killbuck, died Tuesday evening, Nov. 1, 2011, at her home following an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home with pastor Clyde Ondrizek officiating. Burial will be at Killbuck Cemetery, Killbuck. Friends may view anytime prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 22, 1939, in Massillon and was the daughter of Throllis and Catherine (Cookston) Ross. On June 28, 1955, she married Willis Dean Chanay and he preceded her in death July 31, 2010. Martha was a cook for Millersburg Junior High School and a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Millersburg.
Surviving are four children and their spouses, Jan and Bart Mohler of Millersburg, Barb and Tom Arnold of Killbuck, Bill and Karen Chanay of Coshocton and Jim Chanay of Killbuck; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Barb Gabriel of Georgia, Sharon Vance of Tennessee, Mary Lou Grindstaff of Tennessee and Carol Sivey of Mount Vernon; and two brothers, Austin Ross and Lanny Ross, both of Mount Vernon.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda, who died November 2009; and a brother, Robin Ross.
