CENTERBURG — Rachel Linkous, 81, of Centerburg, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home.

She was born March 13, 1930, in Morrow County to the late Albert and Leona (Edgell) Horn. Rachel was employed as a school cook for the Highland School System. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and crocheting. Along with her husband, Rachel attended the Sparta Advent Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband of over 64 years, Edward Linkous; her son, Gene Linkous of Centerburg; two grandsons, Chad (Maggie) Linkous and Brian (Charlene) Linkous; and two great-grandchildren, Parker and Grant Linkous.

Besides her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jane Gray and Emma Belcher.

Friends may call Sunday, Nov. 6, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon. A service will be held Monday, at the funeral home, beginning at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Carl Hankins officiating. Burial will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery.
