MOUNT VERNON — Dee Dee Uldine Zimmerman, 59, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Monday afternoon, Nov. 7, 2011, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Dee Dee Uldine Zimmerman was born Dec. 31, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Andrew Phillip Zimmerman and Uldine Marcella (Schorr) Zimmerman of Mount Vernon.
Dee Dee is survived by one brother, Andrew Zimmerman (Frances) of Huntsville, Ala.; and three nieces. Dee Dee was a resident of The Laurels of Mount Vernon. She was a member of Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene and of the Eastern Star.
Dee Dee graduated from Mount Vernon Senior High School and Knox County Vocational School, and attended Mount Vernon Nazarene College. Dee Dee worked for the Eastern Star Home as a nurse’s aid and she also worked at Wendy’s Restaurant. She loved doing crafts and sewed, did stamping and crocheting. Dee Dee loved to shop and find a good bargain. She loved to eat out and to spend time with her family. Dee Dee loved the Lord and enjoyed reading her Bible and learning about God. She loved her family and will be missed by them.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Eastern Star service will follow the visitation on Wednesday.
