MOUNT VERNON — Donald E. Alberts, 70, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at The Ohio State University Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 29, 1941, in Knox County to the late Orlo O’dell and Evelyn D. (Davis) Alberts. He was retired from Kokosing Construction and was a member of the Local Union 1216. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, his garage, and his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Leah (Robinson) Alberts; daughters, Carolyn (Kenny) Geog of Brinkhaven and Kim (Jason) Kodger of Fredericktown; grandchildren, Andy (Jenifer), Kandi (Gabe), Randy, Ryan, Alex and Keith; great-grandchildren, Gabe Jr., Nicole, Nick, Briar, Hailey and Nathan; his brother, David Alberts of Mount Vernon; and sisters, Wilma Alberts of North Fort Myers, Fla., Becky Hager of Mount Vernon and Eva Alberts of Brinkhaven.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Gary, Ralph, Robert and Charles Alberts.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Burial will follow in Amity Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Visit http://www.fischerfuneralhome.com.
