MOUNT VERNON — C. Eileen Fawcett of Mount Vernon passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at the age of 93.
She was born July 22, 1918, to the late Clyde and Alta Johnson. Eileen married Lloyd “Spick” Fawcett on April 1, 1937, until he preceded her in death in 1980.
Eileen leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Dick (Barb) Fawcett and Kathy Luna; grandchildren, Debbie (Laurie Martinez) McCament, Cheri Peters, Melanie (Wilbur) Welker, DJ (Kathy) Luna, Jessica Luna and Sami (Brett) Hunnicut; seven great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; brother, Roger (Betty) Johnson; sister in-law. Jean Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son, William Fawcett; brother, Don Johnson; sister, Jane (Chuck) Clemens; and a daughter in-law, Marcia Fawcett.
In her earlier years, Eileen was a member of the TOPPS Club, a volunteer at the local Cat Shelter and a Girl Scout leader for many years. She was also an active member of the South Vernon United Methodist Church. Eileen enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, animals and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and many close friends.
Friends may call Monday, Nov. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St.; with funeral services beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
