FREDERICKTOWN — Caleb R. Hite, 18, of Fredericktown, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born on Aug. 9, 1993, in Mansfield. Caleb was a senior at the Knox County Career Center where he studied in the auto technology division. He had been a member and baptized at the Fresh Faith Church in Mount Gilead. Caleb worked for the Aluminum Exchange in Mount Vernon and for McDonald’s in both Mount Vernon and Mount Gilead. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, riding four wheelers and swimming at the lake with family and friends.

Caleb’s one true passion was his love for cars. He enjoyed tinkering, washing, cleaning and fixing HIS car Jenna the Jetta. Caleb could often be found on Friday or Saturday night on Park Avenue in Mansfield cruising and spending time with friends and other car enthusiasts. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by his mother, Amy (Jim) Hunter of Fredericktown; his father, Randy (Angie Gantt) Hite of Mount Gilead; a sister, Kaitlyn (Scott) Hinkle of Fredericktown; a brother, Ethan Hunter of Fredericktown; a nephew, Nickolas Hinkle; paternal grandparents, Ron and Louise Hankins; maternal grandparents, Jim and Karen Pappas; aunts and uncles, Mike Hite, Candy Wiggins, Ricky Hankins, Julie Squires, Jeni Hunter, Carma Hunter and Kimmie Hinkle; his girlfriend, Carly Heldenbrand, and her daughter, Ryleigh Heldenbrand; and Caleb’s canine companion, Mack.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ray Hite; and his uncle, Ronnie Hankins.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Fredericktown United Methodist Church, 123 Columbus Road, Fredericktown, where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. Pastor T.J. McNew will be officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.
