MOUNT VERNON — Jocelyn Baxter McKee, 91, went to her eternal heavenly home on Nov. 18, 2011.

She was born in Miller Township on Jan. 22, 1920, to the late Robert and Florence Baxter. A graduate of Mount Vernon High School (1937) and Mount Vernon Business College, she worked with her husband on their farm in Brandon and also the Baxter-McKee Insurance Agency.

Jocelyn loved to interact with people and to travel. She, along with her husband, was active in the Airstream and Good Sam clubs and grange. She volunteered for Hospice of Knox County and Interchurch Social Services. As a resident of Emeritus at HillenVale, she attended the Messiah Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Arden McKee, in 2002.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl (Ton) Badoux of Mount Vernon; son, Robert (Anne) McKee of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Dr. Megan (Jeremy) Thomas of Indianapolis, Matthew McKee of Brisbane, Australia, and Derrick McKee of Washington, D.C.; and great-grandchild, Sophia Thomas.

The family would like to thank the staff of Emeritus at HillenVale for their loving care and, along with her friends there, for making that her home. They would also like to thank Hospice of Knox County for their wonderfully kind support of her final days, and for the church family who also loved her. We are deeply grateful for all who offered caring support.

Friends may call Wednesday, Nov. 23, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, where a service will begin at 1:30 with the Rev. Roger Doty officiating. Burial will follow in Brandon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Knox County, 17700 Coshocton Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050; Interchurch Social Services, P.O. Box 1052, Mount Vernon, OH 43050; or Messiah Church, P.O. Box 1271, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
