LEXINGTON — Don Weiland, 75, died Nov. 19, 2011.
Don was born Oct. 16, 1936, in Shelby, to John and Marge (Reinken) Weiland. Don retired from Shelby Insurance. He was the St. Peters eighth-grade boys basketball coach for 10 years; and was a member of the Mansfield Senior High School coaching staff. He was a member of Resurrection Parish, which helped organize.
Survived by wife, Doris Ann (Mapes) Weiland; daughter, Jodie (Randy) Fry; son, Andy (Lisa) Weiland; three grandchildren; sisters, Margie (John) Szaraleta and Pat Dillon; sister-in-law, Janice Shaffer; brother-in-law, Tom (Valerie) Mapes.
Besides his parents, deceased are brothers-in-law, Milt Shaffer and Ray Dillon.
Visitation is today, Nov. 22, from 5 to 8 p.m. in Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where vigil service will begin at 7 p.m. Mass will be offered Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Resurrection Parish, with the Very Rev. Nelson Beaver celebrant. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
