DANVILLE — Shawn B. Hamilton, 40, of Danville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 1, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born Dec. 7, 1970, in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Shawn had a creative mind and used his vision and abilities as a tattoo artist. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Seymour) Hamilton; his children, Zach Frazee of Danville, Shawn Hamilton of Danville, John Hamilton of Danville, Curtis Hamilton of Danville, Nicholas Hamilton of Loudonville and Stacia Hamilton of Mount Vernon; his step children, Shannon Kitts and Elizabeth Smith; eight grandchildren; his mother, Sandra (Earl) Thompson of Danville; his father, Benjamin Hamilton of Florida; a brother, James (Valerie) Thompson of Howard; a sister, Tammy (Brian) Bercaw of Howard; special friends, Danny, Bradley, Little Dan, Carlos, Michele, Conner, Nick, Kain and Kera.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Thomas P. Bess.

Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050. The family will observe a private graveside service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
