MOUNT VERNON — Billy D. Row, 60, of Granville Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 4, 1951, in Mount Vernon, to the late Forest and Nellie (Bonham) Row. Billy was the fourth generation to work on the Row family farm. He previously worked 17 years as a heavy equipment operator for Columbia Gas before owning and operating his own trucking company, Bill Row Trucking, for the last 10 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and Nascar and previously served as a 4-H advisor and Miller Township zoning inspector. Billy served his country in the United States Army.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Vickie (Decker) Row; two sons, Jason (Michelle) Row of Mount Vernon and Tim (Sarah) Row, of Lafayette, Indiana, and four grandchildren, Grady Row, Shelby Row, Jadyn Row and Jesse Row.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Pastor Terry McLaughlin will be officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
