HOWARD — Robert Duncan McKenzie, 60, of Howard, passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, in the Palliative Care Unit at Knox Community Hospital.

He was born June 23, 1951, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, son of Albert McKenzie and the late Dorothy (Hamilton) McKenzie. Bob combined a love of music, a penchant for collecting and a passion for British motorcycles. He touched the lives of a diverse group of people on both sides of the border. He loved his farm and all the projects it entailed, but the essence of Bob was to give wholly of himself to friends and family. He was a genuinely good person. He will be greatly missed.

Bob is survived by wife, Janet; father, Bert; sister, Marilyn (Gabrielle); nieces, Taiya (Phillip), Sara; nephews, Aaron, Patrick and Will; four grandnieces and a grandnephew.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held in June at Homewood Farm.

Private expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at http://www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Knox County or a charity of your choice.

The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Robert Duncan McKenzie.
