MOUNT VERNON — Ruth B. Crumm, 86, of Mount Vernon, passed away Dec. 9, 2011, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home.
Ruth was born in Atlanta, Ga., Dec.16, 1924, to Curtis W. and Bessie (Aaron) Bonner.
She grew up in Griffin, Ga., and spent the war years in Washington, D.C., working for the Federal Bond Department where she met her husband of 55 years, Robert Earl Crumm. Ruth spent many years as Clerk-Treasurer for the Mount Vernon Board of Education. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Vernon, where she taught Sunday school and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Ruth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Eric and Mary Crumm of Mount Vernon; and a granddaughter, Amy Crumm of Mount Vernon. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Crumm; brothers, Warren and Curtis Bonner; sisters, Agnes Norsworthy, Betty Wells and by a twin sister Mary B. Crumm.
Private burial will be held in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the funeral arrangements for the Crumm family.
