DUBLIN — Christopher “Chris” Tanner, 49, of Dublin, formerly of Mount Vernon, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at the Kobacker House Hospice in Columbus.
Chris was born Jan. 4, 1962, in Mount Vernon to William and Joanne (Snow) Tanner. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1980 and attended The Ohio State University in Columbus. He was the former owner of J.T. Financial Services, had owned the Italian Eatery restaurant in Gahanna, and currently was involved in restoration and rental of single family homes. He had attended the Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon. He was active in the TEA Party movement, was a member of the conservative Heritage Foundation and the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are his longtime companion, Cindy Fox, and her daughter, Taylor Fox; his sister, Sherry (Mark) Arnold of Mount Vernon; his brothers, Michael William Tanner of Chesterville, Scott L. Tanner of Mount Vernon; several nieces and nephews; and special niece, Melanie Houston; and nephew, William Houston; and his beloved canine companion, Holly.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Central Christian Church, 17833 Gambier Road, Mount Vernon; where a service celebrating the life of Christopher Tanner will follow at 7 p.m. with Mr. Kenneth Springer officiating.
