She was born July 7, 1905, in Richland County to William and Etta (Snyder) Poorman. On June 30, 1928, she married Ivan Gower, who preceded her in death June 30, 1969. She and Ivan lived in Butler for many years together operating their family farm. They moved to Mount Vernon in 1957.
