MOUNT VERNON — Hazel M. Galyon, 82, of Mount Vernon, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

Hazel was born May 18, 1929, in Lafollette, Tenn., to John P. and Anna S. (McMillian) Fuson.

Surviving are her daughters, Patricia Humphrey and Linda Galyon, both of Mount Vernon; grandsons Hazel raised, Charles Pealer and Anthony Galyon; other grandchildren, Tammy Humphrey Christine, Robert Humphrey, Jesse Humphrey, Tricia Humphrey and Star Brant; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Howard Fuson and Ray Fuson; and sisters, Marie Gray and Edna (Jack) Pennington, all of Crestline; and special friend of 42 years, Bill Laird.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Galyon; a daughter, Debra Hines; a sister, Frances Fuson; and a brother, Earnest Fuson.

Graveside funeral service will be Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
