MOUNT VERNON — Helen M. Derr Seavolt, 84, of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully Jan. 3, 2012, at her longtime residence. She was born Feb. 28, 1927, in Knox County, daughter of the late Clarence and Emma (Earnest) Derr.

Helen was a member of the Amity United Methodist Church.

Helen is survived by her sons, Stephen and Stanley Seavolt of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Art; brother, Carol Derr; sister, Mildred Robinson; and a niece, Phyllis Pore.

A celebration of Helen’s life will be held at a later date at the family farm.
