MOUNT VERNON — Dorotha L. (Bell) DeWinter, 90, of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at the Autumn Health Care in Mount Vernon.

Dorotha was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Howard to Samuel and Ruth G. (Christman) Bell, and had spent her lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. She retired in 1985 from Cooper Energy Services, where she had been employed for 36 years as a secretary in the Production Control Department. Dorotha was a member of the Howard Church of Christ.

She is survived by the Zimmel family; and cousins in Michigan; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mary, Becky, Erma, Creta and Dorothy.

Besides her parents, Dorotha was preceded in death by her husband, Robert DeWinter, her son, Michael Edwin DeWinter; and her brother, Edwin Bell.

Graveside services will be Friday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Susan Stevens officiating.
