HOWARD — Jerry A. Hendrix, 41, of Howard, a wonderful father, son, friend and a terrific soul mate, passed away Jan. 3, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born March 9, 1970, in Ashland, to Robert Hendrix and Phyllis Bevington. He was employed by Mauser USA in Mount Vernon. Anyone who knew Jerry knew he was a hard working man from work to home. Along with his family, Jerry loved his puppies and dogs, Mason, Missy, Mario, Marcy, Chevy and Sweetie.

Jerry is survived by his fiancee, Tia Cooley; his son, Jordan C. Hendrix; mother and stepdad, Phyllis (Doug) Burdette; sister, Barb Hendrix; brother, Jon (Angie) Hendrix; nephews, Brandon and Seth Hendrix; aunts and uncles, Ron (Marlene) Bevington, Jack (Jean) Bevington, Pam Akers, Richard (Joy) Hendrix, Edie (Ed) Vaughn, Sandy (Mike) Heaton, Ronnie Hendrix; and a great-aunt, Jeannette Hendrix.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rod (Helen) Bevington, Lawrence (Vera) Hendrix; and a great-uncle, Denzil Hendrix.

Memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon. Friends may call Saturday at the funeral home from noon until time of service.
