GAMBIER — James A. White of Gambier, born Dec. 19, 1948, passed away Jan. 4, 2012, at Northview Living Center in Johnstown, following declining illness.

The family is grateful to the staff of Northview and to Hospice of Central Ohio for their excellent care to him through this difficult time.

Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Ned (Charles E. White Jr.) and their father, Charles E. White Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Marian J. White of Ohio Eastern Star Home, Mount Vernon; brothers, Barry L. (Breta) White of Gambier and Norman R. (Patricia Pursel) White of Mount Vernon. Surviving nieces and nephews are Bonnie (David) Garland of Ashville, Tenn., Bruce (JoAnn) White of Elk Park, N.C., Jonathan (Lara) White of Lewis Center, Matthew (Carrie) White of Walla Walla, Wash., D. Isaac (Elizabeth) White of Howard and Hannah White of Gambier.

Jim was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Hill Church in Mount Vernon. He was a 1968 graduate of Mount Vernon Academy and a 1972 graduate of Andrews University at Berrien Springs, Mich. His passion was studying and memorizing Bible scriptures and encouraging others to make serving God their first priority in life. Hosea 2:18 “I will make them lie down safely.”

There will not be any visitation or funeral service.
