MOUNT VERNON — Patricia A. (Hyatt) “Patty” Davis, 71, of Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday afternoon, Jan. 5, 2012, at the Laurels of Mount Vernon.

She was born Feb. 25, 1940, in Mansfield, daughter of the late Roland T. Bangs and Mary Louise (Buckingham) Hyatt.

Patty grew up in Mount Vernon and attended Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic School. She had worked for the AmVets Post 95 in Mount Vernon and was an active member and past Post Commander of the AmVets Post 95 Auxiliary. She was a life member of the Women of the Moose and the V.F.W. Patty enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Patty is survived by her husband, Harry Davis, whom she married Oct. 8, 1988; sons, Gary Fox, Toni (Lynn Varlos) Fox, Larry Fox, and Terry Fox; a daughter, Sherrie (Tim) Hysell; grandchildren, Angela, Jessica, Larry, Patricia Nicole, Erika, Patricia Annemarie, and Porter; great-grandsons, Adam, Azland, and Damion; brother, Donald Hyatt; sister, Janet (Bernie) Stanley; two nephews and two nieces; her canine companion, Leroy.

In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Lee Fox; a granddaughter, Lilley Marie Fox; a nephew, Shane Stanley; and daughters-in-law, Terrie Ann (Wythe) Fox and Cheryl Renee (Fuentis) Fox.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8, at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, with the Rev. Chuck Wythe officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
