LEXINGTON — Lowell L. “Woody” Wood, 90, of Lexington, passed away, Jan. 10, 2012, in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a short illness.

He was born Oct. 27, 1921, in Morrow County, the son of Theodore Franklin and Vera Dee (Romans) Wood, and graduated from Mount Gilead High School in 1939. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. On Dec. 9, 1972, he married Lillian Marie Haldeman, who preceded him in death Dec. 16, 2002. Lowell worked as a truck driver for Mohican Trucking for many years, retiring at the age of 70. After retirement, he also worked part time for Mid Ohio Sports Car Course.

He is survived by stepdaughter, Sandra (James) Bollinger of Powell; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two nieces; and family friend, Stacy Ann Jaskiewicz of Mansfield.

Interment with military honors will be held at a later date in Rivercliff Cemetery, Mount Gilead.
