UTICA — A funeral service for Wanda L. Higgins, 83, of Utica, will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, at 10 a.m. at Utica United Methodist Church, with Pastor Ken Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery.

Wanda died Jan. 9, 2012, at OSU James Cancer Hospital, Columbus. She was born April 20, 1928, in Newark, to the late Charles Allan and Minnie Marie (Styer) LeMaster.

She is survived by her son, Glenn L. Higgins of Denver, Colo.; daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Eric Stewart of Granville, Leslie and Barry Casebolt of Utica; grandchildren, Anne (Clark) Deringer, Matthew (Heather) Stewart, Andrew Stewart, Megan Higgins and Mallory Higgins, Paul (Kristin) Casebolt, Sarah Casebolt and Jeff Casebolt; five great-grandchildren, Lucas, Nicholas, Audrey, Gus and Avery; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Alberta LeMaster of Macon, Ga.; sister, Sherry LeMaster of Newark; sister-in-law, Juanita Snair of Newark; several nieces and nephews; and best friend, Juanita Booth of Utica.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Higgins, whom she married Sept. 11, 1949; an infant son, Richard J. Higgins; and sister, Ellen LeMaster.

Friends may call Friday, Jan. 13, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N Main St., Utica.
