MOUNT VERNON — Anne S. Brumley, 74, of Yauger Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at the Emeritus at HillenVale in Mount Vernon.

She was born March 24, 1937, in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Allen and Lillian (Vaughn) Scarborough. Anne graduated from Carrollton High School. She later earned her nursing degree from the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing and retired as a Registered Nurse from the Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Anne enjoyed reading and was an avid supporter of the Humane Society.

She is survived by her sister, Jane (Stephen) Taylor of Wedowee, Ala.; a niece, Candi (Johnny) Hocott of Mount Vernon; a nephew, Chris (Rita) Harman of Opelika, Ala.; and 10 great-nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Brumley.

The family will observe a private service in Atlanta. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to have been chosen to serve the family of Anne S. Brumley.
