LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Crider-Arling, 88, passed away Jan. 13, 2012, with her family by her side, in Louisville, Ky.
In celebration of her life, a memorial service will be held Jan. 25 at noon at The Alcove Restaurant in Mount Vernon.
She was born Nov. 6, 1923, in Knox County to James Clinton Heaton and Mary Marie (Underwood) Heaton.
Mary “Libby” was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Mary “Libby” is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Ginny Crider of Vero Beach, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, David and Marianne Arling of Broomfield, Colo.; daughter, Patricia Crider-Weimann of Louisville, Ky.; daughter and son-in-law, Karen (Crider) and John Shea of Louisville, Ky.; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margie Rogers of San Marcos, Calif., Julia Jane Mickley of Upper Arlington.
Mary “Libby” was preceded in death by her first husband, Carroll B. Crider; her second husband, Joseph M. Arling; her beloved son, Michael Crider of Newark;, her brothers, Clarence, Frank, James and Harry Heaton; and sisters, Beatrice (Heaton) George and Rose Marie (Heaton) Fawcett.
A private service for the family will be held Jan. 25 at the Gay Street United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon. Flowers will be graciously received at the church.
