MOUNT VERNON — Jane Zeigler, 74, of Madison Avenue, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at her home.

She was born April 22, 1937, in Louisa, Ky., to the late Ben and Molly (Spencer) Burchett. Jane retired from the former Kelsey-Hayes Company in Mount Vernon.

She is survived by three sisters, Louise (Bob) Esque of Baltimore, Ohio, Alda Walker of Columbus, Shirley Householder of Utica; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her longtime companion Howard Griffith; a brother, Ernest Burchett; three sisters, Margie Jordan, Emily Ruddock and Lois Church.

A funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, where friends may call one hour prior. Rev. Gerald Bell will be officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Centerburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County Humane Society, 400 Columbus Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
