MOUNT VERNON — Margaret E. Lambert, 75, of Mount Vernon, passed away Jan. 18, 2012, at Knox Community Hospital.

She was born Oct. 11, 1936, in Coshocton to the late Cecil and Esther (Wright) Perkins.

Margaret graduated from Union Local School, Coshocton County in 1954 and from Olivet Nazarene University in 1958. She was a school teacher for 36.5 years. Her early career included Buffalo, Bellville and East Knox High Schools and then several years with the Mount Vernon City Schools. She was a 4-H advisor, Chairman of Christian Women’s and Director of the Big Adventure Learning Center of The Salvation Army. Margaret was a Charter Member of Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Kenneth Lambert; her son, Douglas Lambert of Winston Salem, N.C.; two brothers, Paul L. Wright of Dublin, and Elmer R. Wright of Arcola, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell Glen Wright.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon with Pastor Steve Ward and Pastor Scott Sharpes officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in East View Cemetery in Centerburg.
