MANSFIELD — Ervin “Butch” “Moon” Mullins, 60, of Mansfield, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at the Cleveland Clinic.

Born July 22, 1951, in Dema, Ky., he was the son of Denver and Dacie (Nichols) Mullins. Ervin graduated from Clear Fork High School in 1969 and retired from AK Steel after 33 years as an electrician. In his spare time, Ervin enjoyed fishing and camping, and spending time with family and friends at Apple Valley.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Alta Jean (Rogers) Mullins, whom he married Dec. 29, 1969; children, Stacy (Janine) Mullins of Ontario, Denise (Kevin) Berger of Ontario, Deanna (Alan) Miller of Ontario, Seth (Tara) Mullins of Shelby and Shane (Emma) Mullins of Ontario; grandchildren, Jacob Berger, Abby Miller, Bryce Miller, Grace Miller, Chase Mullins, Chance Mullins, Ethan Roach and Elise Mullins; sisters, Delores Gerhart of Mansfield and Ruth Edwards of Bellville; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Barr.

Friends may call Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by the Rev. Bruce Copley. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
