DANVILLE — Helen Loraine (Tenney) Thomas, 87, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, while surrounded by her family Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012.

She was born Oct. 2, 1924, in Tallmansville, W.Va., to the late Artie C. (Ketterman) and Jesse S. Tenney. She married Jerry Thomas on Sept. 13, 1941. She was a member of the Millwood Church of Christ, a lifetime member of the KCH Auxiliary, and was also a member of the Rake and Hoe Garden Club, the Danville American Legion Post #650, and the Danville Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her children, Stan (Karyn) Thomas of Cleveland, Barbara Souder of Danville, Larry (Kathy) Thomas of Stow, and Donna (Jeff) Buckingham of Howard; grandchildren, Mandy (Dave) Brower, Gretchen (Steve) Richmond, Sherri (Steve) Bohling, Shay (Johnny) Hicks, Angela (Chad) Rine, Joey Souder, Stephanie Thomas, Amy Buckingham Hull, Matthew Thomas, Denise Thomas, April (Rick) Fisher, and Molly Thomas; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, and Luke Brower, Jakob and Luisa Richmond, Taylor and Thomas Bohling, Mason Hicks, Katelyn, Luke and Ethan Rine, Ashley, Nataley, Jordan, and Peyton Hull, and Lydia and Norah Fisher; and a sister, Janet Westfall.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 43 years; a brother; Harding Tenney; and sisters, Cletis, Buelah, Sada and Virginia.

A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the Millwood Church of Christ, with Dave Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery in Danville. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. until service time.
