GALION — Lydia R. King, 50, of Galion and formerly of Columbus, passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield following a short illness.

She was born Jan. 25, 1961, to the late Preston Matthews and Doris Styer. Openhearted, she was everyone’s friend. She treasured time at home surrounded by her grandchildren.

Lydia is survived by daughter, Krystal King; fiancé, David Choulat of Apple Valley; son, Allen (Teresa) Tullos of Melbourne, Fla.; grandchildren, Cassie, Charlie, Cali, Collin, Matthew, Clara; brother, Charlie; sisters, April, Alice, Robin, Roxanne and Elma.

Memorial services celebrating the life of Lydia King will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Baptist Temple, with Pastor Bill Fennell officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury.
