FREDERICKTOWN — Erlene Kelley Swihart, 69, of Fredericktown, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon

Erlene was born May 12, 1942, in Cumberland, Md., to George Mitchell Kelley and Helen Virginia (Coffman) Kelley. She was a graduate of Howard High School and had spent most of her lifetime in Knox County. Erlene was retired from the Showa Corp. in Sunbury.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, James Mitch (Susan) Simpson of Mount Vernon and Thomas Kelley (Heather) Swihart of Fredericktown; grandsons, Kellan Swihart and Tate Swihart; her companion, Rodger Ross; sister, Jacqueline E. (Richard “Rick”) Stoutenburg of Mount Vernon; and niece, Kelley Stoutenburg.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Ethan James Simpson; and an infant granddaughter, the daughter of Thomas K. and Heather Swihart.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be Friday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m. in Quaker Cemetery near Fredericktown, with Pastor Dennis Turner officiating.
