MARENGO — James M. Young, 91, longtime resident of Marengo, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at Bennington Glen Care Center in Marengo.
He was born Sept. 18, 1920, in Clendenin, W.Va., to the late Philip and Virginia (Hayes) Young. He was a graduate of Marengo High School in 1938, and it was there where he met his childhood sweetheart, Martha Carsner. He owned and operated James Young Trucking until his son purchased the business, after which he continued to drive and fully retired at the age of 85. He logged endless miles and hauled countless loads for his loyal customers who more importantly were his friends.
