GRANVILLE — David L. Hite, 95, died Jan. 28, 2012, at Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born April 30, 1916, in Utica to the late Frank C. and Mary Edna (Pannebaker) Hite. Dave was a member of Granville Presbyterian Church, and a World War II Army veteran serving in the United States Office of Strategic Services in the Mediterranean Theatre. He practiced law in Utica and Newark and was a member of the Licking, Cleveland, Ohio State and American Bar Associations. He was a life member of the American Legion and served the maximum terms on the Licking County Aging Commission.
He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Diane Hite and her husband, Dr. Hajime ‘’Jim’’ Miyazaki of Auburn, Ala., and Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine W. Hite, who passed away Feb. 11, 2002; son, David L. Hite Jr., who passed away Dec. 25, 1984; sisters, Patricia Wambold and Joan Hoelscher.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica. A private service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Karen Chakoian officiating. Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery.
Diane and Jim will host a Chardonnay toast at Beth and Russ’ house following the burial.
