MOUNT VERNON — Frances Nadine Bayliss, 80, of Emmett Drive, Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at the Knox Community Hospital.

She was born Jan. 13, 1932, in Mount Vernon, to the late Alphonsus and Helen (Kolp) McKenzie. Nadine was employed at the Mount Vernon Telephone Co., the Mount Vernon Developmental Center and also TRW, from which she retired. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Nadine enjoyed riding and traveling on the motorcycle with her husband. She enjoyed fishing, crochet, macramé and spending time on the computer. But most of all, Nadine adored the time she spent with her great-grandson, Cooper.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 59 years, William “Bill” Bayliss; two daughters, Keitha Bayliss of Hebron and Sheila (David) Bayliss-Hughes of Mount Vernon; her grandson, Levi (Amy) Smith of Massachusetts; her great-grandson, Cooper Smith; two brothers, Richard McKenzie of Nevada and Gary McKenzie of Texas; and five sisters, Lucille Parker of Bellville, Lois Lang of Columbus, Shirley McKenzie of Florida, Phyllis McKenzie of Florida and Rosalie Creasey of Virginia.

The family will observe a private graveside service in Brandon Cemetery at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to have been chosen to serve the family of Frances Nadine Bayliss.
