NASHVILLE, Ohio — Buhl A. “Cracker Jack” Walkerow, 77, of Nashville, Ohio, passed away Thursday Feb. 9, 2012, at the Holmes County Home in Holmesville.
He was born Oct. 14, 1934, in Nashville, and was the son of Cornelius and Vera (Parks) Walkerow.
He was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He was caretaker of the Millersburg Church of Christ for 30 years, where he was also a member. Buhl was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He liked bluegrass and was an avid guitar player.
Surviving are four children and their spouses, Steve (Lynne) Walkerow of Wooster, Eva (Roy) Marrs of Lodi, Ohio, Yvonne (Steve) Osborn and David Walkerow both of Virginia; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Darrell (Ruth) Walkerow, and Loy (Kathleen) Walkerow, both of Nashville; and two sisters, Shirley Wagner of Wooster, and Kreath (Ken) Stafford of Millersburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Darren Walkerow; and two brothers, Don and Lemont Walkerow.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Wells officiating.
Burial will be at the Nashville Cemetery, Nashville, Ohio, with Military Rites being conducted by the Killbuck VFW.
