MOUNT VERNON — Stanley L. Ransom, 77, of Mount Vernon, passed away early Monday morning, Feb. 20, 2012, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born June 27, 1934, in Mount Vernon, son of the late Harold and Mary (Bishop) Ransom. Stanley was a member of South Vernon United Methodist Church. He retired from Jervis Webb Co. in Mount Vernon.

Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joan (Perrin) Ransom; son, Randy Ransom of Mount Vernon; a granddaughter, Kylie of Mount Vernon; sister-in-law, Judy (Hank) LaBrun; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Tracey Epley.

In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Ransom; a brother, Paul Ransom; and sisters, Deloris Schrader, Marjorie Murphy, Martha Covert and Virginia Higgins.

The family will have a private service for Stanley at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
