MOUNT VERNON — David E. Clinton, 79, of Mount Vernon and formerly of Akron, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 29, 2012, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.

He was born May 27, 1932, in Akron, son of the late Everett and Beulah (Thrash) Clinton. David retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a veteran of the Air Force, serving during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Brown Street Baptist Church in Akron and the Toastmasters Club.

David is survived by his brothers, Ted (Shirley) Clinton and Wayne (Julia) Clinton.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine.

A graveside service will be held Friday, March 2, at 11 a.m. at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron.
