DANVILLE — Marguerite “Peggy” Updike, 61, of South Mickley Street, Danville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 1, 2012, at her home.

She was born July 18, 1950, in Mount Vernon, to the late Donald Biefnes and Gillies (DeNoon) Robinson.

She was a life member of the VFW Post 4027.

Peggy is survived by her companion of over 34 years, Dick McFadden of Danville; her son, Joe Updike of Mount Vernon; her daughter, Tammy (Ron) Anders of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren, Randy (Amber) Anders, Tori Anders, Desi Anders, Alex Updike and Chey Anders; a great-granddaughter, Raylynn Anders; her brother, Don (Billy) Biefnes of Aurora, Colo.; and nephew, Martin Biefnes of Aurora, Colo.; her sister, Julie Lucas of Mount Vernon; nephews, Brian Totten of Sunbury and Drew Totten of Mount Vernon; her daughter-in-law, Nanette DuMont; and her best friend, Tippy.

Besides her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her sister, Gunner Biefnes.

Friends may call Wednesday, March 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Millwood Church of Christ. A service will follow beginning at 3 p.m. with Evangelist David Jones officiating.
