FRAZEYSBURG — Joseph E. Bussey, 85, of Frazeysburg, died Monday morning, March 5, 2012, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio in Newark.

Born March 25, 1926, in Perry County, Ohio, he was a son of the late William and Emma (Yeley) Bussey and was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Bussey retired in 1988 from Kaiser Aluminum Corp. after 37 years of service. He was a former member of the Federated Church of West Carlisle.

Surviving are three sons, Michael Bussey and Jerry (Susie Mounts) Bussey, both of Frazeysburg, and Stephen (Sue) Bussey of Walhonding; one daughter, Cathy (Gaylen Caynor) Roberts of Conesville; four grandchildren, Darin (Angie Dunn) Griffith, Jennifer (Jason) Glosser, Jessica Roberts and Matthew Bussey; two great-grandchildren, Kiana and Allanea Glosser; a sister, Rosella (Tom) Miller of Somerset; three sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia C. (Gardner) Bussey, whom he married Nov. 26, 1952, and who died May 31, 2004; six brothers, Howard, Lawrence, Leonard, Donald, William and Haven Bussey; and four sisters, Edith Bussey, Margaret Daniels, Louise Williams and Hilda Saine.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 7, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 W. Third St. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 8, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Myers officiating. Burial will be in West Carlisle Cemetery.
