MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Wesley E. Humbert, 64, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in Montgomery, Ala.
The son of the late Harold F. Humbert and Juanita (Wilson) Humbert, Wesley was born and raised in Mount Vernon. A graduate of Mount Vernon Senior High School Class of 1965, he attended Ohio University before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1967, where he served for over 21 years before retiring as a SMSGT (E8) in 1989. Mr. Humbert worked for the General Services Administrtion before returning to school, where he earned a bachelor’s degree from Troy State University in 1995 and his master’s degree from Auburn University at Montgomery. He had lived in Montgomery for the past 27 years.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lorraine (Lonnie Bishop) Humbert; daughter, Sandra of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Betty (Ronald) Spearman of Mount Vernon; sister-in-law, Barbara Rine of Newnan, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy (Mike) Barker.
Funeral service was held March 12 in Montgomery, Ala. A memorial service will take place in Mount Vernon at a later date.
